This year the Colloquium will be examining the ideas of religious thinkers and how their writings bear on issues related to modern life. Religious authors typically write for religious audiences, however their ideas often have broader significance for contemporary public life. To that end, the Colloquium will focus on the ways religiously-minded philosophers, novelists and theologians can expand and enrich our understanding of what it means to be human in the 21st century, facing as we are increased social alienation and a sense of danger from current political, cultural and technological developments.
